Do you trust me? (What are you doing next Friday?)

If I told you that I'd like to introduce you to a group of local business people who meet up to help each other, who find me a huge proportion of my clients, would you believe me?

We’re meeting at 0630 (yes, AM) next Friday, on Zoom. I think it would be a great opportunity for you too, as we’re currently looking for someone in your profession to pass work to.

You’d jump at the chance, wouldn’t you?

Either that, or you’d ask…

It’s not BNI, is it?

Shortly followed by…

  • Tried it before (every group is different)
  • Isn’t it really expensive? (it’s an investment that more than pays for itself)
  • Surely if you build such good websites, I don’t need something like this? (it’s just another part of your marketing mix)

Slow down. I’m not asking you to join. I’m inviting you to visit to see what it’s all about.

Not everyone loves BNI, but I firmly believe that it can be a great way to grow and develop your business. And you trust me, don’t you?

What makes us different?

We’re the Online Canterbury chapter. We’re all based within a 45-minute radius of Canterbury, so we cover a slightly bigger area. But we don’t have to drive anywhere for our meetings!

Having said that, those that want to still get together once a month for some kind of social event, just so we know that we exist in three dimensions.

But being an online-only meeting makes it much easier to attend and keep our commitments. We’ve had members sat in cars, vans, even Egypt, and give their 60-seconds and pass and receive business.

We still do all the things like 60-second pitches, and a 10-minute presentation each meeting. But if you’re nervous about standing up in a room of people, well, you don’t have to stand up!

Plus, because we don’t have to hire a room or pay for breakfast, it’s significantly cheaper to be a member of our group compared to others.

What have you got to lose?

A couple of hours out of your Friday morning?

We start early so that we still have the rest of the day available. Besides, this is a work meeting, so starting extra early on a Friday is surely a perfect excuse to finish early!

Add to that the benefit of meeting on Zoom – you don’t have to drive anywhere and only have to get dressed from the waist up.

What have you got to gain?

Even if you get to the end of the meeting thinking “nah, this isn’t for me” you’ve just introduced a whole bunch of new people to your business. Free, face-to-face advertising. You’ve been exposed to a host of opportunities, found out about services that perhaps you didn’t even realise existed. Picked up some tips on business and networking.

More likely though, as you sit through the contributions round – which is the chance to hear how each person has helped the others that week – you’ll be thinking “why have I been missing out on this for so long?”

At least, that’s what I, and the other 318,000-odd members around the world thought.

So how can you get invited to our next meeting?

If you’re in that 45-minute radius of Canterbury, enter your details below and I’ll add you to the list for the next meeting.

If you’re not quite that close, have a look at the BNI website for details of your nearest meeting – Kent, UK, or Worldwide.
